All About Our Barn Doors
Our Barn Doors are made of solid knotty alder. They are sold as kits, ready to assemble. You can order a standard pre-assembled door and it will not come as a kit. There is an additional custom charge for this style of door. This type of door must be ordered over the phone with one of our customer service reps. If you order one of our barn door kits it will ship via UPS ( or freight depending on the amount of doors ordered) and will arrive in a box, un-assembled as slats of wood. The box will contain T& G (tongue and groove) slats which are labeled with stickers in alphabetical order. Total thickness of the door will be around 1 1/2″. Simply use a Phillips screwdriver or drill to assemble your new door. As you start to assemble, you will see your beautiful door start to take shape! All of the assembly hardware will be included in a hardware pack. Don’t throw away the hardware pack! Assembly should only take about 20 minutes! Please send us a photo of your door installed, we would love to add it to our Gallery of images.

On all knotty wood species, knots that show light through the door will be filled and knots that do not show light through the door and are not filled should be expected and are not considered defects. On all wood species, natural variations in the color, texture, and density of the wood are common and always acceptable.
(Note: On knotty wood species, the location, quantity, and size of knots are unpredictable)
Any warranty shall be void and we shall have no liability hereunder if the end-user installs, treats or retains, for more than thirty (30) days, a product containing an obvious defect, without giving the notice as required herein, or if the end-user fails to give the required notice within 48 hours of the discovery of a latent defect.
After (30) days no returns are accepted on any orders. If you discover a problem with any of your hardware, doors or other merchandise we will gladly help discuss the options you have with the defective item according to the manufacturers warranty and only to the original purchaser.
If a defect occurs within one year from the date of shipment, written notice and (if necessary) pictures of the defect must be provided. Buyer shall not return any goods until we has been provided a reasonable opportunity, up to 4 business days after receiving the images or product, to process the issue in order to determine whether a defect exists. We will not be liable for any doors repaired, returned, or replaced without prior written consent. If warranted doors contain defects covered under this limited warranty, we shall be limited to, at our option, 1) repairing or replacing the doors or 2) refunding the purchase price of the doors to Buyer. Doors will be repaired or replaced in the same stage of fitting and/or finishing as they were originally supplied. We will not pay any cost to remove defective doors or to install new doors, and will not be responsible for any finishing costs or consequential damages.
Most all hardware finishes will change with time, the elements, the environment and human contact. Stainless steel hardware, baked on finishes and powder coating is guaranteed against rust. All other hardware finishes, including non-stainless steel hardware, will rust with time and as they are exposed to any moisture, even moisture inside the home that may be in the air.. If your hardware is rusting, we recommend a simple solution. Use a Scotch Brite Pad and buff away the rust on the track or any other metal material. After that, you should spray the metal with a Krylon or similar brand, Clear Satin or Clear Flat acrylic coating. This should help prevent more rust that may occur in the future. We will not replace any hardware due to rust on non-warrantied finishes.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time. We reserve the right to cancel any order and refund any order at any time at our discretion. We love our customers but sometimes we may not be the right match for your project.

Door Kit Information
Due to the fact that our doors are a rustic product, some inconsistencies may occur in the wood, tongue and groove, screw holes, finishes, measurements and any other part of the door. Our door kits are made to ship direct to a customer’s door using a common carrier like UPS or FEDEX. This is why they come in tongue and groove slats ready for assembly. Your delivered door will be in a box approximately 16” wide x 8” deep x 8’ long. Please expect your unfinished door kit to take approximately 25-35 minutes to assemble for any door kit 3’x6’8” and smaller. Any larger door may take longer. For approximate installation time lines on your door please contact customer service for help. The only tool needed for assembly is a Phillips head screw driver or drill
We recommend that your barn door is given time to acclimate. We recommend 48 hours. NOTE! It is typical for your door slats to bow or warp. If bowing or warping occurs, be sure to alternate the bow or warp so that the effects will be neutralized once the door is assembled. Never allow the door slats to be propped up. Always lay slats on a flat surface.
On all knotty wood species, knots that show light through the door will be filled and knots that do not show light through the door and are not filled should be expected and are not considered defects. On all wood species, natural variations in the color, texture, and density of the wood are common and always acceptable. Note: On knotty wood species, the location, quantity, and size of knots are unpredictable

WARNING!!!
THERE ARE NO RETURNS ON BARN DOORS. IF THE DOOR WAS ORDERED “UNFINISHED”, THERE IS A HIGH POTENTIAL OF WARPING AND OR BOWING OF THE DOOR KIT PIECES. THE FOLLOWING ARE SEVERAL CAUTIONARY PROCEDURES TO FOLLOW TO HELP REDUCE THE CHANCE OF DOOR WARPING AND OR BOWING:
- NEVER PROP DOOR PARTS OR ASSEMBLED DOOR. ALWAYS KEEP ON FLAT SURFACE.
- DO NOT ALLOW MOISTURE TO GET TO THE DOOR KIT.
- ALLOW DOOR KIT TO ACCLIMATE IN ROOM TEMPERATURE FOR AT LEAST 48 HOURS BEFORE APPLYING A FINISH.
- WHEN APPLYING A FINISH, INSURE THAT ALL PARTS OF THE KIT ARE COMPLETELY SEALED. DO NOT ASSEMBLE KIT BEFORE ALL DOOR KIT PARTS ARE SEALED.
- BE SURE TO SEAL ALL PARTS OF THE DOOR KIT WITHIN A TWO HOUR TIME PERIOD.
- GLUING DOOR KIT TOGETHER IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
ATTENTION
THOUGH THIS DOOR KIT IS MADE FROM KILN DRIED HARDWOOD, THE NATURE OF WOOD IS TO ABSORB AND RELEASE MOISTURE WITH CHANGING CLIMATES AND TEMPERATURES. IT IS COMMON FOR THE TONGUE AND GROOVE SLATS TO BOW OR WARP. WHEN ASSEMBLING THE KIT, BE SURE TO ALTERNATE THE BOW OR WARP SO THAT THE EFFECTS WILL BE NEUTRALIZED ONCE DOOR IS ASSEMBLED.
FINISHED DOORS
EVEN AFTER PROPERLY SEALING A DOOR, WARPING AND BOWING MAY STILL OCCUR WHEN CHANGING CLIMATES AND TEMPERATURES. THERE ARE NO RETURNS, EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS FOR WARPED OR BOWED DOORS FINISHED OR UNFINISHED.
WARNING CHOCKING HAZARD!
Small screws are included in your door kit and are dangerous for children under the age of 8.
